To every student taking Computer Skills with Professor Belisle, here's some advice:
1. Make sure you go to class! We go over a lot of stuff every day so if you miss a class you are really going to be behind
2. Doing your assignments is really important for getting a good grade. The assignments are often simple but time consuming, so just make sure you put in the time to get them done because they help your grade a lot
3. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Professor Belisle covers a lot of stuff so at times she can go pretty fast, but if you have a question she is always very helpful so make sure you ask.
4. Have fun, you get to learn a lot without writing any papers!

Presentations Blog
Unfortunately I wasn't in class for everybody's presentations, because all the websites look awesome, but I was in Tennessee for the baseball conference championship, which we won. Anyways, after looking at all the websites, my favorite was Travis'. I liked it because it was interactive and far better than anything I did. My other two favorites were Alex's and Nick's. I liked Alex's website because it was simple but creative, and I liked Nick's because it had good pictures. That is all
My website
Please visit my website at www.cs.trinity.edu/~kclement
Overall, making the site was harder than i thought. I used Expression Web because it was the easiest one for me. I like my Baseball page the best because I think it turned out better than my other pages. If I did it again I would change the background to some of my pages. My biggest challenge was making the navbar work properly. My biggest design challenge was making everything line up the way I wanted it to. I probably won't show my site to anybody. I might have to make another site for another class so my knowledge in it will be useful.

HTML Code
It is important for a web page designer to understand how to use HTML code just in case there are problems with the web authoring software or if it is not working. Another reason it is important to know code is because that way if there is a problem with the web page, the designer can go straight to the source of the problem to fix it.

Powerpoint Presentations
My two favorite presentations were Tomas' slideshow about flying and Alex's presentation about technology. I liked the flying presentation because it was original and really intriguing. It was a success in my opinion because it got me interested in aviation and it was something I don't usually think about; the video was really cool too. I liked the technology presentation because the slides and music were really well done so the presentation really caught my eye.

Chris Nolan
When Mr. Nolan came to our class, I learned several useful new things about search engines and the sites I visit. First, I learned that there are many different ways to use google than just searching the web or looking for images. We learned that Google Scholar can help you find more academic sources for times when you need to do research. Mr. Nolan also talked to us about evaluating the sources you select. Some of the criteria are the website itself, the author of the page, and whether the site has legitimate citations to show that accurate information is being displayed. I think that both using different search engines and finding scholarly sources will both help me in the future for times where I might need to write a research paper.

Pictures That Lie
I chose the picture of the Lebanese capital after an Israeli air raid because it caught my eye when I was looking through the pictures. The picture originated from Lebanese photographer Adnan Hajj. it was manipulated by adding more smoke to intensify the fact that the city had been attacked. it was manipulated to create a greater effect to make the attack appear worse. The manipulation was harmful in my opinion because the attack of a capital city is a very serious matter and it was an inappropriate way to alter a photo to create greater impact.

CLT
After visiting CLT in class, I learned just how useful a resource it could be. I liked that there were different stations for different needs, such as a video editing area with computers equipped with appropriate software. I also thought it was cool how many nice, new computers were available for students to use. I think the CLT center could be useful in our class for doing things such as editing pictures. I think the most useful thing that was down in the center was the presentation practice room with a projector. It would really be useful for students who want to practice a presentation in a realistic setting.

Copyright Laws
Unfortunately, I was sick on the day that Mr. Hardin came to talk to our class. However, after reading over my classmates' blogs, it sounds like a lot of useful/ interesting information was passed along. One of the important issues that seems like it was brought up during the lecture was the fact that copyright laws help to provide a way of guaranteeing an individual will be paid appropriately for their works. Especially during the current times, the role of copyright laws is huge because of the spread of music through illegal downloading and sharing. Although having to pay for every song is not exactly the cheapest or easiest way to get music, I have made a habit out of it because it is not worth the risk of paying thousands of dollars by getting caught for violationg copyright laws. Another point it seems like Mr. Hardin brought up is that copyrights also serve as a way to promote creativity by ensuring that an individual's creative thoughts will be protected from theft by others.

Top Tech Tip
I think the most important thing I learned from Mr. Hatch was about CCleaner. CCleaner is designed to erase unnecessary things saved on your computer that you may or may not even realize are there. I haven't installed it on my laptop yet but I plan on doing so because it sounds like it would help make it alot faster.

Introduction
My name is Kevin Clements, and I am from Pacific Grove, California. I play baseball for the school team and I love the game. I also like country music, movies, and hanging out with friends. I really don't like getting into cold water, even though I live by the beach. I don't know a whole lot about computers other than basic stuff like making powerpoints, so I would like to learn about Photo Shop and other new areas.
